Leads for Final Expense Insurance

Every final expense agent will agree that you need final expense leads to succeed. So how do you get these leads? Some use direct mail final expense leads, some use telemarketers, some use dialers, and some have the discipline to go out there and knock on doors or cold call seniors from a list. We go over all these options in the membership area but the main thing you have to be aware of is that these leads cost money. They are not cheap and it’s a weekly bill you will always face. Once you have your 7-10 policies in each week, you won’t really notice the cost of these leads but, in the beginning, it can be tough to afford the lead cost.

This is why it might be best to hit the streets and cold knock for a while. If you have a great final expense sales presentation and the right combination of companies, you are bound to sell one policy a day. That is 5 policies a week and at $500 commission a piece, that is $2500 a week, $10,000 a month.

My First Few Weeks Selling Final Expense

When I first started selling final expense, I was broke. I had no choice but to door knock and after 6 weeks and 50 policies later, I was able to hire a final expense appointment setter to cold call for me. It took us a few weeks to get it right but after about a month or two, with her calls, my door knocking and the mailers I sent out, I gradually worked my way off the streets and woke to a day full of appointments — with little to no effort on my part.

Does this Make You Nervous?

Don’t worry its not that hard. You are dealing with nice, lonely people. If you aren’t too pushy and straight forward, they will talk to you. I will usually mention Medicare or Social Security and talk about some current changes in the law. This will peak their interest and either make an appointment with you or let you come in to do your sales presentation.

It’s all about getting into the home. Once you are in the home, it doesn’t matter why, you just start into your final expense script and watch them melt in your hands.
